Double Bass player, Julia Shulman has given concerts as a soloist, chamber musician, and an orchestra player as well.
She has participated in various performances with Dohnányi Youth Symphonic Orchestra, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Jerusalem Broadcast Symphonic Orchestra and many Massachusetts-area orchestras, such as the Brockton Symphony Orchestra, Cape Ann Symphony and New Bedford Symphony Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, Julia played in different groups, such as the Garitselova-Shulman cello-double bass duo and the Music after 1900 chamber music series, among others.
She has participated in several contemporary ensembles and projects, such as the Mexican tour of the Eastman Broadband, Slee Sinfonieta and the Quey Percussion Duo.
Currently working on her DMA at the Eastman School of Music, Julia holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and a Master of Music degree from the Longy School of Music. Her main teachers were István Lukácsházi, Michael Klinghoffer, Pascale Delache-Feldman and James VanDemark.
